I received a much-awaited phone call today; I now know where I will be spending the first 6 or so months starting in April: Ibiza, Spain! I can’t believe it! 😀 This is so exciting! Any place would have been incredible, but I was hoping that I would get the chance to work in Spain at some point for many reasons including my fascination with the culture and the desire to improve my Spanish!
Ibiza is an island in the Mediterranean Sea, halfway between the East coast of Spain and the island of Majorca. It is a culturally rich island with white sandy beaches and picturesque pine-clad hills. My friends also brought to my attention that it is considered one of the party capitals of the world, known all over for its vibrant night life and electronic music.
I will be working at the Sirenis Calla Llonga Resort, located between tree-clad mountains and the mouth of a river, overlooking the lush Cala Llonga beach. It is located 12 km from the center of Ibiza and 7 km from Santa Eulalia, the island’s cultural center.
It sounds like I will be working in entertainment (I even received a form asking if I can sing/dance, etc), but I will not be completely certain of what my job title entails until later on. I am very open though and look forward to whatever comes my way! On March 9-12 I will be in Belgium undergoing training with colleagues from all over Europe and I’m sure I will find out more then. I can’t wait to meet you all and I cannot wait to share the fascinating things I learn with you readers!

I was looking forward to visiting Ibiza, Spain so I googled it and come across this blog. I just wanted to say the first picture of yours is not the beach in Spain, more like the beach in Thailand. If you can see the little flag in the picture. Anyways, it was an old blog so you’ve probably visited the place and no by now. I just thought I should let you know.
